Battery Eliminator
1963 350 engine in neutral?
I have a 1963 Chevy Impala, I have only one engine and built 350 points with a distributor Accel Points Eliminator Kit I have part-time conversion ahard 2010th engine idle is always right. Some people tell me that perhaps my harmonic balancer, slides and makes it difficult get the timing it right. But it is something that I realized that does not seem right. When I drive, I disconnected the battery in one, the car idles much higher and may be the correct input. My question is what causes the engine to idle like that? Could be my voltage regulator? I have a 1970 Chevy truck 350 and this does not happen to my car.
There are lots of things that will ensure any problems with rest, or about the carburetor and has no leaks and the pipe collector, the battery can cause an internal short circuit the alternator to work harder than they should without charge, try spraying some carb cleaner in the carburetor base to see if the engine speed increases
